Physical Examinations and Preventative Medicine:
We provide quality physical exams in 30 minute appointments where your cat is fully examined from whiskers to tail. We will offer additional services deemed necessary by the veterinarian. At the end of the exam, you are given a "report card" of your cat's health along with any necessary estimates for future procedures.

Anesthesia and Surgeries:
We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide that extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures. Most anesthetic patients receive IV fluid therapy and pain medications as well. We provide routine surgeries such as spays, neuters, and mass removals. Other surgeries are determined on a case by case basis.

Dentistry:
Our dental services include digital dental x-rays, teeth cleaning, polishing, sealants, and tooth extractions. Other oral surgeries such as mass removals are commonly performed. Dental care is important to the overall health of your feline.

Radiology Services:
At Cat Clinic of Fernandina, we offer state-of-the-art digital radiology and digital dental radiology. Digital radiology allows for the veterinarian to see an x-ray of your pet within about 30 seconds, and we are able to email x-ray images.

Individualized Flea Control and Heartworm Prevention Programs:
We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas and prevent against heartworm disease in your house, your yard, and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling:
With more cats being indoors only and exercising less, cats are getting more and more overweight. Dr. Mersereau will address your cat's weight concerns and help determine an appropriate diet to keep your cat happy and healthy for a longer period of time.

Behavioral Counseling:
Cat Clinic of Fernandina can help your kitty with such issues as inappropriate elimination, aggression, scratching training, or any other issues that your kitty may possess.

Philosophy Regarding Declawing:
At Cat Clinic of Fernandina, we do not offer declawing as we believe this procedure is completely cosmetic. We are more than happy to speak with our clients regarding declawing, offer viable alternatives, and discuss scratching training.
